Electric Charging Station

Design Course Winter Semester 2019/20

Electric Charging Station for the German Highway

In the course of the electrification of road traffic, new demands are imposed on refuelling and rest stops on the European motorway network. In a seminar phase preceding the design, basic knowledge will be developed together for both the spatial programme of a filling and service station as well as the requirements for an electrical infrastructure for charging operation and for the generation of regenerative energy above the paved traffic areas, which will then be incorporated into individual designs. In doing so, the editors are free to select an existing filling station with a service station, which will then be revised in their own design to meet the requirements of future CO2-neutral motorway traffic, or to develop an exemplary electric filling station.

The design is supervised weekly and can be worked on in groups of two.
